Civitali and Paladini School Institute - Lucca

The monumental complex housing the "Paladini" High School, the "Civitali" Institute, and the "Leone X" Kindergarten is located in the heart of Lucca. The complex was originally realized before 1330 and it was reconstructed between the 16th and 17th centuries. A detailed diagnostics campaign has been at first performed, focusing on the structural characteristics of the building. Then, the static and seismic vulnerability analysis has been carried out, in order to develop the structural design for the seismic retrofitting. Particular attention has been payed for the interventions design, focusing on the compatibility and reversibility aspects, in line with the goals of preservation and conservative restoration.
