The bridge over the Volpin channel is located near Venice. It forms part of the A57 highway. The bridge consists of multiple adjacent superstructures and subrstructures built in different years. A technical inspection was carried out in accordance with the Italian Bridge Guidelines 2020 edition; then, a detailed structural diagnostics has been performed to calculate the road bridge load-carrying capacity. Subsequently, the preliminary and detailed design of the structural retrofitting has been developed.
